Tracks and mixing

Tracks are the vertical lanes in the track pane. Each track carries clips, mix settings, and an optional effects chain.

Add and reorder tracks

Use Add track in the track pane or the timeline toolbar. Drag track headers to reorder. Drop one track onto another to nest it inside a group track.

Group tracks

Select multiple tracks and press Mod+G to group them. A group track acts as a submix bus — child audio runs through the parent’s signal chain. Collapse groups from the track pane to save space.

Mute, solo, and lock

Use mute and solo on each row. Lock prevents edits on that track for collaborators who are not admins. Locked tracks show disabled controls for read-only users.

Gain and pan

Adjust gain and pan from the track row or open the track details slideout for the same controls plus a duplicate of row settings.

Track heights

Drag the bottom edge of a track header to resize it, or use the Size submenu (Small, Medium, Large).

Custom hues

Pick a color swatch on a track header to assign a custom hue. Hues help you visually separate parts in dense sessions.

Input monitoring (desktop)

On the desktop app with a paid plan, arm a track and click the headphones button for live input monitoring through that track’s effects chain. This is not available in the browser alone.

Track details and effects

Select a track to open the bottom slideout. Details covers naming and mix controls; Effects opens the per-track signal chain. See Effects for adding processors.
