Recording
Vamp records audio onto armed tracks. One track can be armed at a time. When you stop recording, Vamp creates a clip from the take.
Arm a track
Click the record arm button on a track row. Only one track is armed at once. If no track exists, Vamp creates one when you start recording.
Start and stop recording
Press R or click the record button in the transport. Press stop or Space when the take is done. Vamp places a new clip on the armed track at the position where recording started.
Loop recording
When looping is enabled, new takes use Stacked or Last take mode from the loop control menu. See Looping for how playback loops, loop modes, and stacked audio layers work.
Count-off
Configure a count-off region before the loop start in recording settings. During recording, Vamp plays a metronome pre-roll so everyone enters together.
Audio and MIDI settings
Open recording settings to pick input and output devices, choose an input channel on multichannel interfaces, set latency compensation, run the latency calibration wizard, and configure MIDI clock output to external gear.
Microphone permission
The browser or desktop app asks for microphone access the first time you record. If permission is denied, Vamp shows an error — grant access in system or browser settings and try again.
Storage limits
Recording and file import check your storage quota. If you are over the limit, Vamp blocks new recordings and imports. During a long recording, Vamp may save a partial take if you hit the limit mid-session.
